Jon Elliott: Biography + CV

Jon Elliott (b. 1974) is Brooklyn-based artist specializing in painting, mixed media and public art installations. He earned a BFA from Georgia State University in Atlanta in 1999 and an MFA in Painting/Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2001. Jon’s work has been selected for national and international gallery and museum exhibitions such as Transmitter Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; Van Der Plas Gallery, NY; The Jason McCoy Gallery, NY; The Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago, Il; The Chelsea Museum NY; Goff+Rosenthal-Berlin, Germany and SIGGRAPH Asia, Yokahama, Japan. Jon has participated in artist residencies and has been commissioned for public art works through the NYC Department of Education and the NYC School Construction Authority Public Art for Public Schools program. Jon’s work has been featured and reviewed in Esquire Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail,The Reading Eagle, Artweek Magazine, NY Arts Magazine, New York Artworld Magazine, Artcritical.com, New York Press, and The Atlanta journal and Constitution.
